God promises us that He will provide for us; He is the source of that provision and so our rest must be in Him. Seeing that Christ is the only source of provision and comfort liberates us from needing to find worth and value in anything else. Additionally, God desires to provide for us within His Kingdom which means that as the Church operates, we can actually be means of grace and love to each other. (Mt 6:25-30)

What is wrong with people? Is it their environment? Is it their upbringing or the kind of moral code they choose? Is it in the choices they make? Our passage tells us that what is at the heart of what is wrong with people is found in the very depth of their being, their nature. Our problem is that at the very deep core, we are comprehensively evil. And because of this all of our external, us-focused solutions are in vain. Our passage shows us that being comprehensively flawed demands a radical salvation outside of us and for us in Someone who is comprehensively perfect. (Mk 7:14-23)

In our text, we come to find that the great answer to our lawless life is a perfect law keeper who in being perfect for us re-writes our story in His so that we can enjoy a family affection with Him for His sake and not ours.
