The Compassion of God

Compassionate God

Pastor Joel Alonso - Isaiah 55:6-13
Independent Sermon Series
Delivered on: 24 April 2016

Calling people to the Lord is a task given to the Church, one that puts on full display the compassion God has for His children. Even in times of discipline our Heavenly Father shows us great grace and kindness, keeping us close to Him and even assuring us of what He is doing. God promises us that what we are going through will make His name known throughout the whole world, and it will stand a testament to His greatness forever. (Is 55:6-13)

The Glory of God in Suffering

Pastor Aldo Leon - Job 1 & 2
The Glory of God in Suffering, Part 1
Delivered on: 17 April 2016

How do you view and deal with suffering? Typically, we think that the point of such things is to overcome, be better, and seek for God to remove all the sufferings we endure. Basically, we think that the removal of things that weaken us and or the strengthening of ourselves is what is needed most in suffering. But what Job shows us is that what is most needed is not for us to be victorious in sufferings, nor do enough good to lift ourselves in sufferings but to be beat to a pulp in sufferings and look to and cling to a perfect-saving-suffering Christ in our sufferings. Do we need to use God to be invulnerable and powerful or do we need to seek the cover of an invulnerable Christ in our vulnerability? In our message we show that the Christian life is a broken one that finds hope in a perfect broken Christ in the midst of ongoing brokenness. (Jb 1:1-22,2:1-13)

Why We Worship: How a Merciful God leads us to Worship

Why We Worship

Preacher Paul Hernandez
Psalm 103:1-22
Independent Sermons
Delivered on: 10 April 2016

Why do we worship? Is it out of fear? Is it because God prospers us? We worship because a merciful God exists and has saved us from our deserving consequences of sin. In the gospel, we find all the benefits we have in Christ that we need to be reminded of in order to worship the one and true God. (Ps 103:1-22)
