Often when Acts is discussed, the idea is that the book is about the Spirit or certain gifts or the church or preaching. While this is true in some sense, the way Acts starts gives us a bigger idea that holds all things in Acts together: the book is telling us how Christ has brought the Kingdom of God into reality in a new and dominating way. (Ac 1:1-5)

It is important to know that the book of Luke and Acts were written by one author and to see the books as one of two parts. This means that the last chapter of Luke of the resurrected Christ which is picked up in Acts 1 is important for us to consider. Luke 24 will show us the Christ-centered faith-focused perspective of the book of Acts. (Lk 24:36-53)
