However, in the reformed tradition the way the word of the gospel has been built up has always primarily been in the gospel made visible in the sacraments. In the Christian world in general and the reformed world specific, there seems to be a very random, all-over-the-place way of talking about salvation. We talk about the cross outside of God's decisions in eternity. We talk about the Holy Spirit outside of the cross. We talk about our sanctification as if it is our justification and we talk about our sanctification without talking about how it flows from our justification. We are all out of order in our salvation talk and so in being out of order we are muddying the Gospel. The biblical order of salvation is what orders all of our Christianity in its Christocentric place. (Various Scriptures)
