We seem to think that the silver lining on the coming year is a renewed sense of willpower in the face of some kind of law. Romans 7 tells us that law and human willpower are pointless means of God- centered change. We need to walk into the power of the Spirit in the Gospel in Romans 8 to know what hope for the coming year truly is. (Ro 7, 8)
